  • The Ethiopian eunuch faced many obstacles, prejudices and inconveniences in order to worship God in Jerusalem. How does this challenge your own attitudes, your need for conveniences and personal expectations when it comes to worshipping God in church?

  • Have you experienced any form of persecution as a Christian in your journey thus far? If so, how did you feel and how did you respond?
  • Do you fear death? Are you ready to face death because of your faith in Christ? If not, what would it take for you to be ready?
  • Who are the ‘Samaritans’ in our lives, people whom we despise, look down upon, and consider as our enemies? How can we reach out to them with the good news of salvation through Christ?

  • Where and how is God asking you to be a witness for Him?

  • How does God want you to speak and act for the/His truth?

The Triumphal Entry   23/24 Mar

Mark 11:1-11 • Revd Daniel Lim

  • Jesus revealed Himself as the Sovereign King who remains in control despite the circumstances. How does this truth affect you?
  • How is Mark 11:1-11 confronting you in your response to Jesus’ kingship over your life today?

Glorified in Death   16/17 Mar

John 12:20-33 • Revd Christopher Chan

  • What kind of glory are you currently pursuing? What form of sacrificial service is God leading you to, so that you may receive something better?

Come To The Light   9/10 Mar

John 3:14-21 • Ds Ti Lian Swan

  • What does Christ's sacrificial death on the cross mean to you?
  • Why do some people think sin is harmless, even something to be enjoyed?
  • What can you do to encourage someone who is living in darkness to come to the Light?
  • Are there things in your life you need to change in order to live in the Light? How is God glorified in your life?

Zeal for God’s House   2/3 Mar

John 2:13-22

Dr Andrew Loke (Sat 4pm, 5.30pm, Sun 9.30am)
  • "Zeal" is defined as great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective (Oxford Dictionary). What are the things that you are zealous for? Why do you think those things are worth your zeal? How do those things compare to the eternal goodness of the Word of God, which is more to be desired than gold? (Psalm 19:10)
  • Jesus demonstrated his fury at the sin of idolatry and his zeal for God’s house by cleansing the temple. How does knowing the character of Jesus impact your spiritual life, and in what ways can you be more zealous for the house of God?
  • Jesus spoke about his death and resurrection as the sign of his authority. In what ways can you share with others the evidence concerning his death and resurrection during this Easter? (This resource might help)

Revd Dr Andrew Peh (Sun 8am, 11.30am, 4.30pm)
  •  If Jesus came to our church services today, will He do similarly as in John 2?
  • What is the significance of Jesus' upstaging of the buying and selling in the temple?
  • How can the church cut through the tyranny of the urgent and keep first things first?

Losing Our Lives for Christ’s Sake   24 & 25 Feb

Mark 8:31-38 • Revd Christopher Chan

  • What earthly concerns or pursuits are keeping you from whole-heartedly following Christ?
  • What steps can you take, perhaps with the help of others in the church community, to overcome these hindrances to faithful discipleship?

Tested in the Wilderness   17/18 Feb

Mark 1:9-15

Revd Dr Chiang Ming Shun (Sat 4pm, 5.30pm, Sun 9.30am)
  • When have you felt God pleased with you? Aside from righteousness in Christ, how can we please God?
  • How can the Church be counter-cultural in today's Singapore to usher in the Kingdom of God?

Dr Mark Chan (Sun 8am, 11.30am, 4.30pm)
  • What difference does it make to the way we see ourselves and live our lives today knowing that we are children and servants of our Heavenly Father?
  • How do we reconcile on the one hand the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and on the other hand the experiences of trials, threats, and temptations that come our way?

Spirit-empowered Service   10/11 Feb

Acts 6:1-17 • Revd Moses Israeli

  • What did the apostles do when they encountered the needs of the early church? How did they respond? How often do we make decisions in the same way? Share your personal experiences.
  • How can we, the Body of Christ, the church, continue to prioritize prayer and the Word of God? Share how you will continue to prioritize your personal life (including your family) for the communal life of the church.
  • The church is not an entity outside of us, but rather we are part of the church. Share how you will serve, instead of being served, within the Body of Christ for the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fear God!   3/4 Feb

Acts 5:1-11 • Revd Alvin Toh

  1. One of the things this passage highlights is 'acting holy’ before others vs ‘actual holiness’ before God (“You shall be holy, for I am holy” Lev 19:2; 1 Pet 1:16). How did Ananias and Sapphira’s deaths change the way believers and pre-believers view God and the Church?
  2. Have you ever felt unappreciated and taken for granted when you served in church? How do we balance these feelings with the fact that we are not to seek recognition from others but only from God who sees all things, and to serve and give purely out of love for God and for others without expecting anything in return?
  3. “When you fear God, you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God, you fear everything else” (Oswald Chambers). To what extent do you agree with this statement? How can fearing God in our hearts dispel the fear of other things in our lives?

Courageous Witness   27/28 Jan

Acts 4:1-22 • Revd Christopher Chan

  1. Let people know that we are Christians
  2. Live differently, and bring light into darkness
  3. Speak up for biblical truth and share the good news of Jesus Christ
  4. Prayerfully reach out even to those who are not open or seeking

Which of the above are you currently doing? How can you move on to the next step(s)?

Rise Up and Walk!   20/21 Jan

Acts 3:1-10, Luke 14:16-23 • Revd Andrew Yap

  • What are some things that you have asked God for in your prayers? What are some spiritual blessings that would want to receive from God?
  • What are some things that you feel you need to give up or change in order to follow Jesus more faithfully?

All for One and One for All   13/14 Jan

Acts 2:42-47 • Revd Daniel Lim

  • How have Acts 2:42-47 and John 15:12-13 affected your attitude towards giving?

Acts 1:1-11 • Revd Christopher Chan

  • Which of the witnessing approaches presented by Mark Mittelberg are you most suited for?
  • How will you be on mission for God in the coming week?
