Senior Members’ Fellowship
The Senior Members’ Fellowship (SMF) reaches out to and supports senior members of St Andrew’s Cathedral, encouraging them to stay connected in Christian fellowship and to continue growing in their spiritual journey.
SMF provides a warm and engaging community where seniors can participate in meaningful activities, build friendships, and contribute through service and outreach. Through talks, classes, creative activities, and fellowship opportunities, members are encouraged to remain active, purposeful, and connected.
Community & Activities
The SMF Community provides regular opportunities for seniors to gather, learn, and connect through a variety of activities. These include talks on healthcare, active ageing, and spiritual topics such as ageing with grace and end-of-life reflections.
Members also take part in art and craft sessions, where they create items for nursing homes and special events, as well as activities held alongside the Wednesday 12.30pm service. Dance activities are also organised, with opportunities to serve through outreach performances at community partners such as St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital (SAMH).
Music Ministry (SAC Silverstrings)
The SAC Silverstrings is a music ministry where seniors come together to learn and play the ukulele, while using music to bless others. Members meet regularly for ukulele practices and training, and new classes are organised each year for beginners. The group also serves through performances and outreach at places such as Anglican Care Centre (Hougang), SAMH Queenstown, SAMH Aljunied, and Bukit Merah Seniors Centre, bringing joy and encouragement to the community.
SMF Outings, Tours & Trips
SMF organises outings and fellowship trips that allow seniors to enjoy new experiences and grow together in community.These include visits to places of interest, church visits, and mission trips such as Breakthrough Mission. Overseas fellowship trips to nearby towns and cities, as well as mission trips to Batam, provide meaningful opportunities for both fellowship and outreach.
SMF Special Events & Projects
Throughout the year, SMF organises special events that bring the community together in celebration and outreach. These include events such as Christmas at the Cathedral, the SMF Ministry Fair, and the SMF Christmas Musical. These events provide opportunities for seniors to serve, showcase their gifts, and invite others into the life of the church.
