Worship & Creative Arts
At St Andrew’s Cathedral, the Worship and Creative Arts Ministry (WCAM) comprises the choir, contemporary worship team, bell ringing team, dance team, as well as the audio and visual team. Through these platforms, we hope to gather and disciple believers to use their God-given and diverse talents to express their love and worship to God in church and through their daily lives. By using our gifts in this manner, we hope to serve and encourage the church to encounter and proclaim the glory of God through songs and other creative means that communicate Biblical truth.
CHOIR
As a gathering of people from diverse backgrounds, the choir seeks to be a visible witness to who God is and what He has done in our lives. We do our best to prepare music to please Him, usually practising together once during the week and also before our respective services in order to lead the congregation in worship with singing. Through the music, we also hope to reach out to people hearing the good news of Jesus and His Kingdom story for the first time. During seasons of special services, we gather as a combined choir to rehearse.
Interested members will be auditioned and may participate for six months before deciding to join. They must be baptised and confirmed members of St. Andrew’s Cathedral. We encourage those who are willing to serve God and ready to worship Him in singing together to join us.
CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP
The Contemporary Worship Team supports the weekly worship services and other events by leading the congregation to worship the Lord through music and songs. We are committed to musical excellence and creativity, building one another towards spiritual maturity, and loving God wholeheartedly. God being glorified through the offering of our talents and lives is the ultimate goal.
We welcome interested members to share and grow their God-given talents by serving together with us as vocalists and musicians. They must be baptised and confirmed members of St. Andrew’s Cathedral. An audition will be conducted for those who express their interest.
BELL RINGING
The Cathedral’s bells are consecrated to God’s service. Thus the Bell Ringing Ministry is dedicated to serving our Lord. By the ringing of bells, we proclaim the message that the Cathedral church, being an intrinsic part of the history and development of our country, with joy and acclamation, serves the Living God. Besides declaring the presence of Christians in our community, the bells also serve as a call to worship and to unite us in our common bond of love and service in our Lord’s name.
We welcome interested members who are relatively fit, have a sense of rhythm and good memory, and can commit to weekly practices to join us. They must be baptised and confirmed members of St. Andrew’s Cathedral.
DANCE
The Cathedral’s Dance Team seeks to edify the church through the expression of dance in worship. With the Word of God as the foundation, it is our prayer that our worship with the dance will lead others into a closer relationship with God. We hope to impart this form of worship to worshippers regardless of age and dance experience.
We welcome interested members of St. Andrew’s Cathedral who are baptised to join us. We also welcome trained dancers in the church who wish to worship God with their gifts and talents in dance to partner with us so that we can be more equipped to be used by the Lord.
AUDIO AND VISUAL (AV)
The AV Team provides vital support that enhances worship services and other events in the church through media and technology. We typically handle audio mixing, video projection, and other visual elements. This is also a place for tech-minded individuals to serve, grow in their faith, and be part of the mission of the church. We desire to glorify God through excellence in media and technology.
We welcome interested members who are baptised and have a strong interest and some level of knowledge in audio and/or visual systems to join us.
